In memory of Thomas Richard Heather - 2nd January 1932 to 28th October 2024

Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great-uncle and friend to many. He passed away on the 28th October 2024 at the grand age of 92 years. Tom joined the Army as a cadet in his early teens and went on to serve in the Royal Fusiliers in the regular Army. He spent 18 months in Korea during 1951/52 and was later stationed at the Tower of London. Tom was medically discharged after becoming deaf in one ear. He was extremely proud to have joined the Royal Fusiliers, his medals were on display at home and it was a joy to hear his memories. His wife, June Heather, wanted to ensure that the Veterans Association was supported in Tom's memory. At June's request, Tom's family and friends donated £500 to this worthy charity. Tom wasn't one for fuss but it was fitting that his coffin bore the Royal Fusiliers flag and his medals were on display. Tom will be remembered as a placid and easy-going man, who was always a pleasure to be in the company of. He was dearly loved by his wife, family and friends, and will live on in their hearts.
